KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip V, 221-179 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31 mm, 15.82 g, 1 h), Pella, circa 202-200. Head of the hero Perseus to left, with harpa over his right shoulder and wearing winged helmet adorned with a griffin as a crest; all within the boss of a Macedonian shield ornamented with seven stars within crescents around the edge. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ΦIΛIΠΠOΥ Club; all within oak wreath tied at the left. AMNG III p. 197, 1 ('Philip VI'). HGC 3.1, 1056. SNG München 1125. Weber 2251. Harshly cleaned and with traces of corrosion, otherwise, very fine.
